In short: Another great Worksop Half Marathon
In full: This was my 2nd time doing this race and I really enjoyed it (despite my time being slower than last year, oops!)

It is hillier than I remembered, which makes it a little challenging on the legs. Great atmostphere and lovely scenery - loved the llamas!

A good race for non club runners as there were people of all abilities.

Very well organised - registration was smooth, with no queues. Could have done with more ladies loos, although that's a perennial race problem isn't it!

In short: Not a great deal of Woodland, but definitely a challenge
In full: The start of the race was delayed by 30 minutes due to runners having to pick up their race numbers and timing chips before the race and there not being enough people available to hand them out. Not, as one rather unfriendly marshall told us, 'because of people like us who arrive late'. Actually, we weren't late and neither were the other 100 people in the queue! Thankfully the rest of the marshalling was pleasant and encouraging.

The race itself was pleasant enough for most of the way - little woodland though, and a horrific 1 mile hill up along a main road.

Not one I'd do again.

In short: Well done Sheffield!
In full: Really glad I chose this as my first half Marathon. Very well organised, well done to everyone involved. Great crowd support and plenty going off - cheerleaders, bands, singers etc. An interesting course, pretty much flat, other than that unexpected hill near Waitrose! A bit of a hot day today and water on every corner would have been appreciated by many but the water stations really were very frequent. Looking forward to coming back next year to beat today's time!

In short: Muddy and great fun!
In full: This was my first 'multi terrain' race and I really enjoyed it. Quite a walk down to the start - probably about 10 minutes and then right from the start it was muddy.

Certainly not one for a personal best (I've only been running a year and this was my worst time) due to the narrow paths with no passing places and more to the point, in my case anyway, the last 2k uphill through woods was very slow.

All in all a great introduction to off road racing. I can certainly see me doing more. A great way to spend an Easter Sunday, and a lovely bottle of beer for my other half to enjoy :-) Thanks everyone who organised and supported.

In short: Oh those hills!!!
In full: This was my first time at Meltham, although I'd read previous reviews on here so knew what to expect. For a beginner like me it was certainly tough - I reckon I came in the last half dozen. The hills were many, but the scenery was great. The organisation was good and runners and marshalls alike were very friendly. Will have to wait to see if I am any fitter this time next year before deciding whether to do it again!

In short: A great smaller run with perfect scenery and an almost flat route
In full: Great run today, despite the rain and excess road water! This was my 3rd 10k race and my favourite so far. Chip timing, excellent km marking and a good local crowd cheering everyone on. Beautiful scenery and a brass band playing at the finish. A lovely Christmas Pud for everyone who finished. Really enjoyed this race apart from the slightly uphill finish. One thing that would have made it absolutely perfect is a water station on the route - apologies to the organisers if there was one but I completely missed it - and one closer to the end rather than at the end of the field. Well done to everyone and thank you for a great race!

In short: Only my 2nd ever 10k race (or any other distance come to that!). The organisation seemed ok for a local even but the distance markers were in miles (in a 10k race?) and I didn't see many of them. The volunteers and marshalls were friendly.
In full: I found it odd to have cars driving along the road whilst I was running. Great weather! Lots of hills - especially in the last few km .. and I ran out of steam and ended up walking a bit. Oops. Will know for the next time I do it though - because I will.
