In short: Fantastic Race, First half uphill but nothing too severe
In full: I think the weather definately made an impact (pouring rain from start to finish) some hated it, i thoughly enjoyed it. The RO's set some very high standards for themselves in 2009 which they didnt meet in 2010, but compared with other races it still compared very well. The last 300 meters in the athletics stadium is classic. I would definately do this one again.

In short: Great Race, a few little problems that wouldnt take much to sort out.
In full: This was my 2nd HM, lovely course, surprising just how much parkland there was to run through. just a couple of of little niggles that neednt of happened. There was no obvious start / finish line, unless you happened to look at the floor for the timing mats, There was also no timing clock at the end. I feel that it took away from the sense of achievement a little. There seemed to be very few spectators around the course, the ones that were there were great, just not that many of them. For the money the English HM in October is better value.

In short: Excellent, with a few niggles.
In full: This was my first half marathon (2hr 49min). not fast i know, but excellent support from the crowd, other athletes and plentiful marshalls kept me going. The course is mostly uphill for the first half, mostly gradual inclines but some quite steep. by far the worst was the run up the bridge at about 10 miles. There was a problem between miles 4 and 5 when about 20 cars tried to make their way through the runners at the back of the field, Also the timing clock had disappeared by the time i got to the finsh, so i have no idea what my official time is. But overall this has definately given me the bug, and i will definately be entering more halfs, and see if i can bring that time down to something a bit more respectable.
