In short: A real challenge but a great off-road race In full: Having failed to train properly I decided to run to Leith Hill and turn back rather than miss the race altogether. Think hills, hills and more hills but the atmosphere and scenery more than made up for it. I managed to get myself lost and add a couple of miles, but that was more my own fault than that of the organisers! If you want a challenge then this is a race well worth doing. In short: A challenging course! Very well organised and an excellent goody bag In full: This race is an excellent challenge made harder this year by the attrocious weather conditions. A big thanks to the marshalls for braving the weather and the road closures seemed to work much better this year. I will definitely be back.......if only to try and get up the big hill at mile seven faster !! Date of review: March 1, 2010

In short: Absolutely loved it. Makes a change from big City marathons but tough hills at tough points of the race make it a challenge In full: If you want to run a marathon along an amazing route and don't need crowds cherring you on to keep you going then this is the one for you. Although it is more downhill than up, the undulations really take their toll on your legs and there are some tough hills at times when you could do with flat !! This is a race definitely worth doing and one that you will remember for a long time! Date of review: October 5, 2009

In short: Fantastic race, definitely worth doing In full: Not an easy race by any means but after many "big" races this made a refreshing change. Superb organisation, fantastic scenery and a challenging course make this a must. Cannot recommend enough but if you only race to get PB's then you may want to give this one a miss. In short: Great race but very tough last 5 miles ! In full: Fantastic race. Very pretty route, very well organised and lovely cakes at the finish. This race has a lovely atmosphere, will definitely be back (if I can ever move my legs again). Final 5 miles are very tough though and the final mile is a killer so be sure to keep some energy in reserve! Date of review: July 5, 2009

In short: Well organised, lovely views and excellent start/finish area. In full: Not the easiest 10 miler you will ever do but a lovely route and very well organised. An excellent off-road finish area for anybody spectating. Not sure about singing the National anthem at the start but it only added to the day! Definitely a race worth doing. In short: Quick course and fantastic organisation! In full: Extremely well organised race with the route being completely traffic free. Whilst the course is fast the gradual inclines and declines managed to take their toll by the end! A fantastic pre FLM race, with a small race feel and big race organisation Date of review: March 15, 2009
