In short: New Super Quick Course In full: New Super Quick Course in my home city. Alas Woolaton Park has been exchanged for Trading estates South of the City. However this is a very fast course and excellent PB potential. I ran 3 minutes faster than previous best but finished 300 places lower than 2 years ago. Date of review: October 5, 2012

In short: Superb atmosphere and venue In full: This was the 2nd year doing the event and I really hope it becomes an even bigger event. Fantastic atmosphere and great location - flat as a pancake and you can practice the whole route more or less every day of the year. Date of review: October 30, 2011

In short: Really enjoyable event In full: 1st timer though regularly run around HPP in the summer months. Really good event though the number of club runners was somewhat intimidating to a novice. The wind was a challenge and a half so pleased to finish in the Top Half. Date of review: May 23, 2011

In short: Very well organised race and great setting In full: Fantastic morning run around South Notts. Friendly participants and great atmosphere and the number of marshalls was fantastic especially as the route is not completely intuitive. Good surfaces to run on and two water stations. The heat was sapping and the surprise hill meant had to dig deep. Date of review: April 11, 2011

In short: Enjoyable, well organised 10k event In full: Enjoyed this - 1st time at this one and definitely be back next year. PB made it all the better as course was faster than expected as small number of hills were short and not too sharp. Good leg stretch prior to Reading half marathon

In short: Super atmosphere. Sort out the start and the finish!!! In full: OK 2nd time I have done my city of origin race. Last year organisation was not great at the start - this year add the finish to the start. Woeful. There is not enough room for spectators and runners at the start. Nowhere near. Sort this out and this has potential to become a fantastic event - if you don't people will stop coming back. Good to see the wonderful folk of Brum come out at an earlier hour to cheer us on and thanks to all the volunteers - you are the unsung heroes of these events. Date of review: October 24, 2010

In short: Reading - big pats on the back In full: This was my first time at Reading (quite new to half marathons). Excellent pre race organisation and having 5 minute interval markers enabled me to break 1hr40 - thanks to the the bloke in the yellow t-shirt (even though I was secretly cursing him Miles 9 - 11). Brilliant idea in having 5k chip times on the results page. Great finishing setting in the stadium though I was too exhausted to appreciate it fully. Well done - look forward to next year. Only niggle was queue to reclaim bag afterwards. Date of review: March 23, 2010

In short: Brum at it's very best (almost) In full: +'s Fast course (new PB despite heavy cold). Brilliant atmosphere especially Bournville and Broad Street - Cannon Hill Park mile was a nice diversion on the way out. There were different bands playing throughout the course Very well sign posted mile and km (for those of us who live in the 21st century) markers. Lots of water stations. Nice medal and times available in the evening. -'s Start terrible logisitcs and organisation and spent 1st 5k dodging stragglers. 11 minutes to cross start line is too long for 10-12 thousand runners. I would like to see the participants be more representative of Brum's vibrant ethnic mix - the volunteers and organisers certainly were Date of review: October 16, 2009
