In short: Does what it says on th tin
In full: Yes its laps, yes its dull with no cheering but yes its pancake flat. Personally id prefer hills to the repeated hair pin turns which really slow you and ache the knees. The marshalls were great even though they must have been freezing. I also clocked well over at 13.54 even though i didnt go hugely wide on the bends and the half marathoners had to do the last mile as an add on up and down which was really tough mentally. Not my favourite race but its great value, free and plentiful parking and lovely organisers. Plus all profits to charity.

In short: fantastic day thank you
In full: My first time doing this and really enjoyed it. dead easy to get to given easy regular trains from new street and a short walk from wolverhampton station. Maybe a couple more portaloos at the boat yard would have helped but was wonderfully uncrowded given the stagger times and yet the marshals very easy going and let me head off in an earlier wave as I got there early. Was surprisingly not crowded along the path and easy to overtake as required other than the odd narrow section. The tunnel wasnt half as bad as a I thought altho pretty dark and definitely slows you down but at 4miles in thats no bad thing. I had assumed wrongly the water stations would give bottles (altho appreciate this would have made the litter pick up impossible) but it meant for a hot day I was woefully under hydrated. Those plastic cups cannot be pinched and run with so at the first station i lost all my water and spent the next 3 miles staring longingly at the camelbak on the person in front!
Glad to hear it was over length as that really confused me after I used my garmin to count myself in then realised I wasnt at the end yet! Really happy event and very stress free. Nice goodie bag, well organised bag collection and despite the stairs to get to them the showers were fantastic and meant I could have a day in town after shopping. perfect! highly recommended and big thanks to all those involved in organising.
