In short: Venue too small for the number of runners
In full: Pros:

Great route, enthusiastic marshals, nice memento, adequate number of water stations.

Cons:

The venue seems too small for the number of runners. Chaos in the main hall before and after the race, long toilet queues in bitterly cold wind, baggage drop-off looked like a scene from Schindler's List.

Half-mile walk to and from the bus stops - why couldn't the buses drop off and pick up at the school?

Would prefer bottles instead of cups!

In short: Clumsy start, not flat, plenty of water
In full: Cons:

The start area had just two portaloos, which was nowhere near enough. The gents' urinals were embarrassingly positioned, flanking the queue for the portaloos. There was no baggage area. The position of the start line required runners to back up on the field and dodge vehicles and a small fence & bushes. Definitely not as flat as had been promoted. Insufficient transport and/or directions back to the start. Cheezy medal had more space dedicated to the advertisers and promoters than the event itself (which was only afforded very small lettering!)

Pros:

Great/enthusiastic marshals - heaps of praise to them having to stand out in that heat. Plenty of water and sponge area on the course itself and also at the finish. Excellent finish location with plenty of enthusiastic supporters. Not a bad goody bag at all.

In short: Nice morning out but a bit pricey
In full: Pros:

* Very well organised and good atmosphere.
* Free parking due to it being a Sunday.
* Results published in the club house within half an hour or so of the finish.

Cons:

* £10 for entry-on-the-day and no mememto, making it somewhat overpriced, I feel.
* Finish line needed a funnel as everybody just crossed then line and stopped but the marshals need them to keep moving on in finishing order for record-taking.

Other:

* Organisers obviously couldn't do anything about the still-frosty roads/paths.
* Mile markers seemed a bit erratic!

In short: Sheep-tastic.
In full: My first cross-country race and it didn't disappoint. I'm only used to road running so the terrain was a bit tough for me but they did say that at the outset!

No mile markers and no drinks en-route but otherwise a very nice atmosphere and impeccably organised and marshalled.

Sphinx should be very proud of themselves.

Nice T-Shirt at the end, water, hot soup.

In short: Needs wider routes for the first five/six miles to prevent bunching.
