In short: AMAZING!
In full: I can't recommend this race strongly enough. The hills are tough and there are lots of them, but the scenery is stunning, the fellow competitors are friendly, it's incredibly well organised and there are jelly babies and cake at all the water stations. Need I say more! A massive thank you to all the marshalls and the organisers for a brilliant day of running!

In short: A huge improvement on last year
In full: Well done to the new organisers! The baggage drop off and collection ran like clockwork, predicted race time coloured numbers and clearly marked starting pens really helped at the start and most importantly the race was the right length this year! Just one small thing though, need a water station, not just lucozade between miles 3 and 11.

In short: The best one yet!
In full: The weather was kinder, the course was improved by taking out the Ovingdean village section, and the organisation could again not be faulted. The water sachets, I thought, were so much better than bottles. The support from the hordes of people lining the streets was amazing and a huge thank you to all the volunteers and marshalls. I am going to have to mention this, but I got a new PB which was a whole 42 minutes faster than my previous one! I've already signed up for 2013...

In short: Slickly organised, excellent pre-marathon race
In full: This was my first go at the Worthing 20 mile race. 4 laps of the same course had previously put me off, but actually, it works really well. The event is extremely well organised, there were water / energy drink stations at two points on the course and the marshalls were extremely supportive and friendly. A jolly nice medal and goody bag was the icing on the cake. The sunshine and lack of strong winds helped, but it was a great race and I will definitely be back next year.

In short: Shame about the extra distance & poor baggage arrangements
In full: Realised at mile 7 that something was up with the mile markers so luckily knew to press the lap button on my garmin at 13.1 miles to get my 'proper' half marathon time (a PB no less). Baggage area too far from start and very chaotic - took ages to get my bag back and they relied on me pointing out my bag to identify it rather than using the number. Goody bag, utterly pointless - what a waste of plastic! Still a great race though and lovely medal, but probably at the maximum number of people it can accommodate - I found it very overcrowded along large sections of the course.

In short: Great course, organisation and atmosphere
In full: Thoroughly recommended! Extremely well organised, plenty of water stations en-route, great local support and a jolly lovely course. Will certainly be running it again next year

In short: Great organisation and marvellous crowd support
In full: I thought it was hot last year, but this year was even warmer! But what a fantastic day for Brighton. The crowd support was amazing and there was so much entertainment en route. Especially liked the gospel choir whilst running back down Grand Avenue. Could have done with more water stations in the first 13 miles (powerade stations should also have had water available) and a few more toilets in Preston Park, but other than that the organisation was faultless. Thanks to all the marshalls, St John's Ambulance staff and the thousands upon thousands of people who lined the streets and spurred us on!

In short: Gorgeous scenery, mildly challenging hills, great atmosphere
In full: Despite growing up in the Forest of Dean, this is the first time I have actually been for a run in the forest (I only started running at the age of 30!). And what a lovely run it was too. All off road on forest trails and a fantastic almost mile of downhill from miles 2 to 3. The hills were challenging enough, but not too long or steep. Lots of water stations, fantastic organisation and a really great atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend this run and will definitely do this again (there's another one on 18th September)

In short: Vast improvement on last year!
In full: Well done to the organisers for a huge improvement on last year. The weather helped, but the new course is so much better. I can actually say that I really enjoyed the whole run. Plenty of drink stations, clearly positioned mile markers and a big fat medal at the end. My only comment would be the results being listed by gun time, not chip time. With a much bigger field this year, it took me 9 minutes to cross the line, so I feel a bit miffed!

In short: Not only for a very good cause, this is a really lovely run. Obviously helped by the fact that the weather was spectacular for the second year in a row. A beginner's dream
