In short: Fun, friendly, tough, muddy, smelly In full: Great event, well organised. Started on time, well signposted and marshalled by very friendly enthusiastic volunteers. Good friendly atmosphere among the middle pack runners. Would definitely do again. One suggestion... A medal would have been a nice memento! Date of review: November 18, 2012
In short: Hills? What hills? Great run on the slopes of Ealing! In full: Having been told on the start line that this was a tough hilly run, I was looking forward to some serious climbs. What transpired was a fab run up and down some lovely west London avenues with gentle slopes. It is by no means flat, but the gradients are gentle and generally short so don't be put off!
Organisationally spot on, loads of space to hang out at the start, although as with every event I have done, never enough loos. Bag drop was clockwork, and the start was well signposted, I got the feeling most people had a clue as to their race pace unlike VLM! The route was great, the marshalling warm and friendly, and think you to Ealing peeps for coming out and cheering us on.
Overall a really pleasant half marathon. I wasn't convinced about pb potential as I was worried about twists and turns and getting stuck behind other runners. However I did get that pb, had plenty of room to run, plenty of water and a great medal at the end. One ask....can we get a t-shirt next time?
Do it next year, you really will not regret it! Thank you EHM. Date of review: October 1, 2012
In short: Great atmosphere! In full: Pluses - fab atmosphere, decent goody bag with Tshirt and medal. Nice runners village, gorgeous city to run in Areas for improvement - way too many bottlenecks. Trying to get in and out of the runners village is painful. Toilets - don't bury the urinals for men amongst the cublicles - noone knows they exist and queue for ages to find empty stalls!
