In short: Good event
In full: Another wet day in 2012 made the course slippery in places, trail shoes were required. Organisation very good and all the marshalls cheered and pushed the runners along. Very scenic and challenging enough for me to return in the future...on a dry day

In short: Probably the most scenic 10k in Wiltshire
In full: The 3k race was being run when I arrived and it was slightly chaotic and dangerous for the young runners with drivers parking cars along the race route. Would of been safer to have the 3k after the start of the 10k. The race was tough, first 4k uphill and more hills followed. The scenery was glorious and the route enjoyable. I would not recommend the event to a total beginner because it is a hard slog. Per race warm up was fun

In short: Tough !!!
In full: After all the rain the course was very boggy and slippery, the hills were killers. The mud mixed with cow and sheep muck came up to your ankles, crampons instead of running shoes were required in places. More of a kamikaze event, can't wait for the next one.....

In short: Watch out for those cow pats !!!!!!
In full: A great race that had everything, on road, on track, in fields with juicy cow pats to avoid, bridges, a flight of steps, hills, lovely views and a nice atmosphere. A fairly tough 5k but i will do it again

In short: Nice event shame about the low turnout
In full: I was rather surprised by the low turnout at such a great National Trust location and that it was being organised by a professional company. The weather was fine and the route was good, all on track or tarmac. A few inclines made the course interesting. No real problems however some of the organiser's team didn't seem that experienced. Goody bag Ok.

In short: A challenging 5k
In full: I do not usually do 5k races but I did travel 75 minutes to get to this one and i was not disappointed. The race was a challenge with one long tough incline. Relaxed friendly atmosphere. The facilities at Hestercombe Gardens kept the wife and kids occupied. The forest car park was a long muddy walk away from the event. Well done to all those involved
