2008 Nike Milton Keynes Half Marathon
Would you do it again?

Maybe

Details:

In full: Only managed 400m or so before i was tripped up! Ended up in mk hospital with a dislocated shoulder and displaced fracture of my humerus. Marshal and St John's ambulance guys were a credit.

The start however was chaos. Terrible idea to start the 10km so soon before the half marathon, lead to panic and lots of weaving in and out of runners. I have entered many events of this distance and not encountered a start like this before. Any event of this size should really have a method of segregating the start into runners of equal speed. Hopefully lessons from this year will be learned so that accidents like this can't happen.

In short: MUD!
In full: First time doing this race for me. Incredible fun. Mud, mud and more mud! Well organised with lots of marshals supporting you all round the course. Water obstacle was a lot deeper that expected, but managed to wash off most of the mud (for a couple of minutes at least!). Steps at the end nearly finished me. Normally manage 10km in 35ish minutes, this took me 44 so not a course for p.b. Sign me up for next year.

In full: More of an adventure race than a road race! Great fun. Loved the number of water obstacles. Even managed a p.b. at 1h23m17s.
