In short: Definitely the best on road half I've ever had the pleasure to run. In full: What a wonderful day. The organisation was perfect - the race village was easy to navigate, the bag drop was devoid of queues and there were plenty of toilets. There weren't even the usual hundreds of people starting in the wrong part of the pens.
The route isn't pancake flat, but it's also not too hilly. I managed to take a good few minutes of my PB at my 13th attempt. It was well supported throughout, there were probably more spectators than any race I've ever done apart from the London marathon. I'll be back next year without a doubt! In short: Everything we were promised, and more In full: I'd never cried in a race before the picnic. I'd also never been supported so well by other runners and marshalls, climbed several million stairs or given a sprint finish to break the 5.45 'barrier'. Special thanks to the marshall who thrust a slice of watermelon into my hands - I don't like watermelon but it was the nicest thing I've ever eaten. Date of review: June 22, 2014
In short: Perfection In full: This really is an amazing day out. The organisation is impeccable, the views are great, the terrain is always interesting, the hills are um, challenging and the marshalls are best in the business. More please! Date of review: March 19, 2014
In short: Perfect - have been smiling ever since In full: A great day out. The final ascent of the steps seemed much harder than the first! Impeccably organised, enthusiastically marshalled and everyone looked like they were having fun. Dr Rob even offered me a lift at the end - hero.
