In short: Fantastic atmosphere; great course; faultless organisation
In full: Over the last few years, I'd lost my love of running and would struggle to run for 10 minutes. Then, I saw an advert for EHM and knew I had to enter a run that started 5 minutes from my house. Training began with laboured runs around Lammas Park....Fast forward six months and I'm excitedly standing on a start line in that same park with thousands of people around me ready to tackle 13 miles!
The race was fantastic...the support all around the course was awesome...water stations were frequent so no need to worry about carrying a bottle and the marshalls must be exhausted from all that smiling and cheering! I hardly noticed the mile markers because I was having too much fun to watch (even after 2 hours when the legs began to hurt!) and the BIG Plus of all those hills is that the downhills are such a relief when you're tired - much easier than running on the flat the whole way!
I strongly recommend this race to anyone who wants a friendly, well organised run whatever your pace. I'll be entering again as soon as registration opens for 2013.

In short: Tough conditions, but very friendly
In full: Rain, sleet, snow and mud made for horrendous conditions...but the marshalls were always smiling and encouraging (even to those of us who took 3 hours to finish)...and jelly babies at mile 14 gave that extra kick of energy that was needed.
Will be back for the 20 in 4 weeks time...buit would like better weather please!!
