In short: Excellent Challenging scenic route In full: What can I say - fantastic race. Just completed the 2011 race and set a new PB for 5 miles - not just for cross country but including flat ones too.
The route is actually quite hilly with some short tough hills to overcome. My Garmin shows the first 3/4 mile to be a gradual uphill slog and then some testing hills dotted throughout. The good bit is that the last mile is almost all down hill, resulting in a 7.39 laptime for mile 5, compared with a modest 8.21 for mile 1.
The reason for my PB is purely down to being spurred on and challenged most of the way by an extremely attractive blonde in a blue top with a very nice bottom (sorry, un PC I know) who unfortunately turned her ankle over with about 1 mile to go. Hope you are ok and thanks for helping me set my PB!
Overall fantastic race with great organisation (I entered as a late entry with no fuss and the efficiency of a well oiled german efficient thing). Thanks again, I will be back next year! Date of review: June 15, 2011
