In short: As good as it gets In full: Can't think of any negatives regarding this race, everything worked like clockwork, great atmosphere, great marshalling, lots of water stops, the option to have own drinks / food on the course, medal, t-shirt and a beer at the end if you wanted it. My only feedback (not negative) is that I would call the "undulations" hills and I am used to running up hill and down dale. But as I said, pretty much perfect. Date of review: May 7, 2012

In short: Heat and Hills What a combination In full: First time I have run this event, great organisation, enthusiastic marshals and great views along the course.
The combination of heat and hills made this a real tough first event over half marathon for me, I would recommended it to others but not to be taken lightly!

In short: Great local event In full: First time I have run this event and was pleasantly surprised by every aspect, aside from the loop through the industrial estate! I would do again and t shirt and medal at end nice touch. Also a BIG thank you to the person in the white Citroen who help me jump start my car after the race, people like you restore my faith in humanity!

2010 Cirencester Park Trails Half-Marathon

In short: Potential Not Realised In full: I want to start by being positive, there was a relaxed atmosphere and it was simple to park and register pre race.
However I can only echo the sentiment of other reviews, it is not acceptable not to measure the course or to put out mile markers.
The run through the woods was both claustrophobic and potentially dangerous with exposed roots and low hanging branches.
I am still scratching me head to understand where my £17 went as all I got was a very cheap medal.
Basically I got up early and paid a lot of money to do a training route.
Why is it that the runs organised by the local rotary club or WI our fantastic events and those run by professional companies often fail to reach the same standards?
What is most disappointing is that the venue has great potential that could be realised with a more imaginative route combined with doing the basics right i.e. measure it and mark it.
