In short: First race and everyone made me welcome, Thanks to all who organised and managed it. In full: This was my first race for about 20 years and entered a few weeks ago on the spur of the moment. Arrived early and parked in the multi-storey; was it a bank holiday? Didn't want to risk the £50 fine so paid up (stilla cheap day). Found race HQ in the slug and lettuce (what a great HQ). No queue as I had booked on-line. Decided to do a warm up but got talking to another runner and ended up doing the big lap. Race started on time, held back and then just folowed runners who were doing about the speed I thought I should be doing. Started passing a few then a few more; made me feel good. Vazstle street is a killer the third time up it. Missed the top 100 by loads but felt elation for having finished without stopping. Can't wait for official time as in my joy I forgot to stop my stopwatch; all I know is I beat 29 minutes.
