In short: Very good race, just a couple of teething problems In full: I really enjoyed this, lovely place to run and largely well organised. The delay at the start wasn't great and they could really do with something you can hear to signal the start. I wasn't that far back and everyone around me realised we had started when we saw the front moving away. Coming back into a was a little frustrating - there were a lot of cars, cyclists and pedestrians for a while. I was going flat out to break 1:30 for the first time definitely found it all a bit disruptive. But these are niggles, I really enjoyed it and got the time! Date of review: November 6, 2012

In short: A very good, well run race In full: It was the second tiem I've run Wilmslow and I thoroughly enjoyed it again. Very well organised and marshalled. water bottles would be nice, but are not essential. I think some of the niggles below are overstated - it would be nice to get a drink as you cross the line, but it wasn't that far and it is quite a busy finishing area. Oh and it is flat, there are no real hills in there. Thanks to the marshalls and organisers as ever. Date of review: March 26, 2012

In short: Cracking race - ticks all the boxes In full: I probably won't say anything thathasn't been said before. Great course, both in the city and country (some very des res's along the way); excellent organisation and great support. The names on the number was a great touch - it definitely gives you a lift. It was very different to Windermere, which I did in May, but equally enjoyable. The only quibble I have: more loo papaer in the Gents please! Well done to Chris and Andy. I should be back next year. In short: Now that's an introduction to marathons In full: My first marathon and what a choice! Excellently organised, great scenery and good atmosphere but those hills! None were that big but the undulating description and course profile don't get across just how much climbing there is. My trusty Garmin reckon over 2,500 feet of ascent - so we've run a marathon and climbed a descent sized paek as well! Big thanks to the all the stewards and the enthusiastic little girl at about mile 16 with jelly beans. Date of review: May 22, 2011

In short: Hilly, fun and friendly In full: Very enjoyable race, well organised and friendly marshals. There wasn't much flat, although the much-hyped big climb proved pretty tame. the descent into Brighouse was worse - my spine felt every step of it. definitely one to do again.
