In short: Very nice scenery In full: Good sunny day in a lovely location with plenty of facilities. 10k route was a mix of shale and sandy paths. Well organised although the announcer could have had a better microphone. Bit of a squeeze at the start and there are long undulating straights to set your pace, got a PB on this one so I'm well chuffed. Date of review: October 11, 2010
In short: First ever National Forest 10k sucess In full: Well done for all of the organisers that staged this first event. The course was mildly undulating with a couple of challenging inclines. The course was mainly asphalt based with a loose surface dressing, with other parts being well trodden trail, road shoes would be preferable to trail shoes. Definately a PB challenge with long straights to set your pace once you gat out of the narrow section at the start.
In short: Good early season race In full: Nice dry and mainly sunny day, I'm told not as many runners this year with some of the faster ones opting for other races. Enjoyable experience overall and a decent goody bag. Could do with a year stamp on the medal. Date of review: April 19, 2010
In short: Quick, flat and enjoyable In full: My first ever race, which happened to be local. Good flat course and set a good PB. This would have been better as I was on a 200m sprint at the end which I could not complete as the last 20m was a sharp left hand dog leg through a farmers gate which funnelled down to a narrow finish line, could have got past a small crowd.
