In short: outstanding organisation
In full: a perfect race for all. organisers obviously have some smarts and class as they saw the weather predictions and bought in 4000 silver foil blankets. they didnt have to do this so was appreciated. Medal is high quality. T-shirt is an unusual colour shall we say. Maybe stay with prime colours next yr. also the build up to the race was handled excellently with regular updates on the website regards snow conditions in wilmslow.
in short you can tell this is a race organised by runners for runners

In short: perfect organisation and good for beginners
In full: perfect organisation and a well ran event. From arriving in the car park there is a marshall on every corner to make sure you get to the HQ and then from there every turn or junction during the race is marshalled with enthusiastic support.
A real village event feel
Perfect for a beginner runner but the course is fast enough for the more experienced.
Goody bag was very good, a book, gingerbread biscuits, another snack, water, tech t-shirt.

a must return event!

In short: very well organised but where harder than expected ?
In full: a good race , perfectly organised.
was suprised at the amount of inclines but nothing killer, just caught me off guard. I got my PB of 1.23 but i wouldnt consider it a pb course due to the hills.
goody bag is poor considering the cost but the medal and orgainistion is excellent.
where crowds gathered ie castle, wollaton and embankment the suport was outstanding
Would defn do this race again

In short: bad weather but great race
In full: the rain came down from start to finish but the people of stoke still came out in good numbers to cheer everyone on.
My first time but i can only imagine how many people would come out in the sun as in previous yrs.
excellently organised and decent goodies in the bag. The medals had different ribbons on to show how you did, eg.sub 1.30.
although its a hilly course, the good news is the hills pay off immediately and have down hills to recover.
i had heard frightening stories of the heartbreak hill but once you are on it it passes quickly then downhill all the way to the finish.
Will defn be doing this again next yr.

In short: definately will run this next yr
In full: depending on your experience this is a very hilly half marathon or a bit undulating !!

Looking at the course profile i was imagining very steep hills but they were more like long climbs.

the good thing is the downhill sections are not severe so you can get up a decent pace with out feeling out of control

i did set a pb, but with the hills im suprised.

the stadium start and finish was good.

marshalls were very good and lots of them

In short: has become an annual event for my family and friends
In full: forgot just how many sharp hills there were in this race, so found it tough running.
but this is a fell race and even though it has been warm for about 5 weeks there was still a run through a bog, a 5m run across a river, run across moorlands and through woodlands.
Eveything you could want from a fell race.

the fete is also a favourite with the family while they wait for me to finish.

In short: cross country meets trial running
In full: reasonably flat but with a challenging hill at the half way stage.
running through woods and on the horse jumping course made it very interesting.
As its at the belton horse trials the tannoy commentator really made the event special getting live updates.
Very friendly atmospherre/runners would suit beginners and unattached runners. (i am not attached to any club)
one improvement - if you didnt have your car with you there wasnt anywhere official to leave your bag etc.
