In short: Pros:Massive improvement on last year. Cons: 1 hour wait at the baggage queue after the race.
In full: I ran this last year and there is a massive improvement:) The route has changed and it's great running along the Thames and seeing the rowers on the river. Parking was very organised this time round. Bands along the route - great touch. Road closures - fantastic - there were none last year. New start line. Good signage. Goody bag, medal and T-shirt very good. To work on:
1. It's a good idea to have the time car at the start before the runners get there.
2. Speakers at the start were poor- couldn't hear anything from the start, except the horn.
3. More marshals on the first water stop (I had to get water from the boxes of bottle.
4. Baggage pick up was bad. I waited for an hour. Fortunately it wasn't raining and everyone was in good spirits. The orangisors should look at Reading - 12,000 runners and I pick my bag up in just a few minutes.

In short: Good local event and very well Marshalled - they spurred me on to the bitter end.
In full: This was my first and possibly last marathon. I did this because it was local, flat and recommended by competent runners. It is a small event (1000) but this was a strength as encouragement seemed more personal. I liked this event and would consider it again in the future once my wife gives me another training pass in a year or twos time:)

In short: Great potential but teething problems let them down. The organisers should look to Reading Half for ideas.
In full: Great support from the locals along the way which made it for me. Teething problems let the side down. These need sorting before the race becomes too big. Loads of potential and I liked the variety of the route. The goody bag, taking out the medal and water, was just a bag; no food, chocolate etc and was disappointing.

In short: Good race along around Plymouth
In full: This race takes you around some nicer areas of Plymouth and onto Brickfields track. A smaller race than many and there were a lot of club runners. Don't let that put you off because it was friendly and seemed quite relaxed compared to other races. Every finisher got a nice woolly hat.
