In short: Frustrating
In full: I did this race in 2010 and it was shambolic then. I entered this year having heard things were much improved in 2011. I knew I wasn't going to PB but I just couldn't work out how I had managed to miss my predicted time...now I know! A lot of people train very hard for this event and it is unforgiveable to get the distance wrong! I am happy some of the entry goes to charity so don't waste my time giving me a 'goody' bag that has two leaflets in it and nothing else. Absolutely pointless. Enough people have said how bad the start/toilets and baggage situation was. On a positive the medal was very nice this time around. The weather was amazing but thankfully that is not in the hands of the organisors! Big thanks to all the volunteers who did help out.

In short: Lovely run with challenging terrain - a good change from pounding pavements
In full: I really enjoyed this run - it was muddy and sandy making the going tough but that's what trail runs are all about. I was a little miffed that the course wasn't 10km - I just found it a little odd that it wasn't the exact distance. The dogs didn't bother me but a girl in front of me almost got tripped up. Having them start first does make sense. It was hard enough trying to stay on your feet in all that mud. Nice t-shirt and plenty of water at the end.

In short: My first trail run and I loved it - it was tough but so enjoyable. Organisation and support was excelllent
In full: I had such a great time yesterday - the marshalls were absolutely superb - there was no way you could go off course. The hills were tough but I kind of enjoyed them ;) True to say that you won't be setting any PB's on this course but that's not why you chose to run it. The t-shirt was great and loved the cakes at the end. My only gripe was at other runners - I saw lots of discarded gel packets along the way which is really sad. Once they are empty surely you can carry them to the next drink station? I gave mine to the marshalls on the course and they seemed happy enough to take them off my hands. We are running through such a beautiful area - why ruin it? I certainly hope to be back next year. Thank you!
