In short: Flat course, not not closed In full: Really enjoyed the race, decent number of people (c. 750) across a range of speeds. Organisation basic but effective with [just] enough portaloos to make it work. Course nice and flat with a good section along the Thames (shared with other users) and the remainder looping on the pavement around Kew. Marshalling very effective and friendly and a nice atmosphere to the whole event. I recommend it and will look to do it again. Date of review: April 20, 2015
In short: Great First Event In full: Really enjoyed the day, good and energetic crowds on most of the route really gave it a good atmosphere. Had the added bonus of going within 50m of my house!
As others have mentioned then lack of loos at the start and unclear filtering of people into the starting pen would have made for a much better start.
Sun made it tough - but otherwise whilst the course had a few gentle hills they were nothing to really make a difference; though the final bit of up right at the end was clearly too hard for a few people.
Whole weekend good - though organisation of the 5k on Saturday a bit more chaotic - with the kids race very well attended. Another 4 people on my street ran - for four of us our first half marathon so a good sign that it has helped get people focused on this. Making a bigger deal of the 5k next year would be good to make the whole weekend more of a festival. Date of review: June 22, 2014
In short: Good well organised race, well attended - unfortunately short this year In full: My second time doing this race, good fun over a reasonable course (and close to home). Nice sunny day made it a good run despite the cold and wind - unfortunately otherwise decent organisation ruined by a short course (probably 9.6 or 9.7km) which has prevented me from getting a "real" PB :-( Date of review: April 15, 2012
In short: Scenic run, beautiful day - but hot and lots of hills! In full: Very well organised and lovely run through the trees. Hot day and my history of only running on the flat made the hills pretty tough! Overall tough, but enjoyable (even more so now the pain's stopped......). Date of review: June 28, 2010
In short: Fun, well organised race in East London In full: Nice race with very good atmosphere and decent course with good participation at all speed levels. Generally very well organised and run - a few minor issues on the day (missing km signs, slight chaos at big pick-up).
Really enjoyable Sunday morning. Date of review: April 19, 2010
