In short: A challenging mid week jaunt among fabulous scenery In full: The hills on this run are steep enough to present a significant challenge to anyone who doesn't factor hills into their usual routines, but these are balanced by plenty of flat and a couple of downhills which makes for a decent, varied run. The scenery is amazing (Yorkshire at its beautiful best) and the organisation is always excellent. I love this run and return year on year for another taster. Date of review: June 16, 2008

In short: if its not uphill its downhill - very undulating course In full: I enjoyed the liversedge for the most part, the course was challenging if a little dull as its mostly running at the sides of main roads but there is some of the course on smaller roads too which were enjoyable. Very well organised, well marshalled and enough drink stations if you like water - would have been nice to see an isotonic drink or two as well. I smashed my PB but i think it was more to do with me feeling good than any advantage the course gave. Not a mindblowing affair but pleasant enough and at a time of year when there isnt much on my calendar anyway so it was most welcome. well done roberttown. R Date of review: February 12, 2007

In short: nice course and a friendly atmosphere In full: Could have done with more toilet provisions for the start but the course was nice and varied with a steep hill just before halfway and another a couple of miles later to make it challenging. Great scenery through the countryside although some roads were a bit busy. Other runners are friendly enough and it was well marshalled so no complaints - it all went very smoothly and a free t-shirt for all finishers - my favourite memento!! I will definitely do it again, and at 10 miles the distance was perfect for a midweek race. Date of review: June 15, 2006

In short: More of a fell race than a half marathon. In full: I did the half and thought the organisation could have been better as the route was not always clearly marked and there were only 2 drink stations serving only water. Overall the race was good value but no permanent memento such as a t-shirt was offered and the half marathoners didnt even get a certificate! Amazing scenery as it was a clear day but the terrain had everything including bogs, steps and part of it was along what looked like a small stream!! Date of review: September 22, 2005
