In short: Great setting for a fast race
In full: Great fun with a good level second half. The hill in the 3rd/4th miles slows you down a bit, but not too much.
Water/Lucozade stations spaced about right;
Great atmosphere with the drumming bands;
Enough space for everyone to get through without bumping (just!);
Weather was perfect - very cool with no wind.

Problems:
The number of slow runners I had to dodge in the first 5 or 6 miles who didn't get the starting bands principle: I was overtaking people right to the finish line (and I'm not that fast!).
The spectators - either dashing across in front of me (Grr!) or just not cheering (=bit of a lack of atmosphere). If your family/friends come to watch you, tell them to cheer *everyone* and not just you!!

In short: Great route in the right weather!
In full: The organisation and general good will of the organisers and of the locals is great for this run. The scenic trip along the Southsea sea front would be lovely except... it was very windy, the rain horrendous, and every step on the way along the seafront was a real effort!
It was an uplifting finish, but I'd have preferred to do it in better weather.

In short: Good flat run. Birdlife and water to keep the mind distracted. Oh - and planes overhead :o)
In full: I ran faster than I have for ages on a 10km but the wind was pretty fierce, being up on the reservoir banks there. Everyone was friendly too.
