In short: nice enough
In full: Nice enough race. Main points that it advertises as Highclere Castle race, in fact the grounds are closed (although we knew about it earlier) there is hardly any view of Highclere Castle itself, it's about a mile or two down the path with no public admittance. When I did Bowood House race, we had scenic views onto it, raced right next to it, here you could see the grounds and that's all. Also, there is no bag storage area. I came by myself and had to leave my valuables (phone, money, house keys) in the car and struggle with keyring to get my car's bulky key card off it. I thought that was poor. Also, the only multiterrain bit was a bit of grass at the beginning and end, everything else was on road. On the plus side, the road section was fully closed to traffic although probably did not need to be as all runners kept to the left anyway. Overall, nice race but I doubt I would do it again.

In short: Brilliant race
In full: What an awesome race! Loved the route, muddy woodland trail, stony byways, the uphills and downhills, the bluebells in the woods. Lovely quiet race, not too many spectators, all of them mainly in start/finish area, brilliant goody bag but I never do races for goody bags. Will do it for sure next year.

In full: Only maybe for doing it again as I parked at Westgate and it was a long walk. Marshalling and organisation ran like clockwork. Weather was good too which was added bonus. Lovely race if not cheap.

In short: great challenging road race
In full: Loved this race even though I'm not keen on road races overall. Nice atmosphere, good marshalling, nice route. Nice facilities at school. And quite cheap for a longish run. As for the hills I was waiting for them and they never realy came, there were undulations but nothing too serious, they only added to scenery. Overall great work Witney Roadrunners.

In short: my local 5 miler
In full: I would do it again as it's a mile from my home but that's really the only reason. The course is in the residential area on pathways, some road crossings well marshalled. Small race, plenty of parking, friendly, great turn out for children as fun run held on the same day. Loved early start of this race, then you could go and do your long run. Mug and a small chocolate bar at the finish. Great marshalling, always cheering on us and edncouraging. NIce local run but not for the ones looking for scenery.

In short: Great local road race
In full: Brilliant local race, course undulating with one big hill on the steep side and a long climb on miles 7 to 9, otherwise undulating, very scenic views from the top of the hill, it was worth a climb, poppies in field, very lovely. The only fault I can find is expensive car park £3 for two hours but the finish turned out to be 2 yards from my car so could stagger to my car afterwards quickly. I totally understand the decision to make it an evening race, little b roads would have been too crowded during the day, we had the roads for most parts to ourselves. Greatly enjoyed this race, very friendly, got a new PB better by 12 minutes so overjoyed.

In short: Course should be described as undulating
In full: From description was expecting hills to be more aggressive, turned out not too bad, average road race, did it to fill Sunday morning, great weather but event average

In short: nice race, enjoyed the weather!
In full: It was my first half marathon and I loved it. I loved the weather and the off road section, mud on the beach, it was great. I'm a trail runner so no amount of mud is a problem to me or rain for that matter. Well done marshalls for putting up with the weather, great local encouragement from the public, passing people must have throught we were all barmy to go out in this weather. The only 2 down points for me: put in the race info that car parking machines do not accept notes, I only had a five pound note on and the bar has run out of coins, it took me 30 minutes to find enough money to pay for my car in coins.
The other point is ridiculous raffle like pieces of paper for baggage, mine flew out of my pocket, should be based on the race number and we should have been given tags with out race numbers to put on.
Overall very pleased with myself as in those conditions got pretty good time and I was running with injury too.
