In short: Great course great day brilliant organisation
In full: Ok I hadn't trained due to injury and was only going along to help my wife's first effort at a marathon, but the crowds and the organisation helped me to the very end!

In short: Real potential let down by weather mainly and baggage problems
In full: My first marathon so will seem special. Weather was a real trial, wet cold and windy making it tough for organisers, runners and spectators. Real positives flat course, history of event and the best the support, really really lifted by every cheer and they were suffered too. Real shame that the last miles were into the wind. May do again but hope they learn from this event and get it sorted

In short: A different Town 10K Hilly through interesting history and parks
In full: Unusual route compared to most with steps, cobbles, allotments, victorian parks. In glorious sunshine today with a warm welcome atmosphere. Fast and challenging at front (not that I was anywhere near). Good climbs will take 5-10% off your PB. Profits to local hospice and Sue Ryder. Nothing to dislike here, much to enjoy. Very friendly

In short: Friendly marathon preparation event
In full: Friendly event, good one to try out the 20 miler, farthest i ever done. Water only at stations, bar some jelly beans, not a major distraction though. Bit lonely on the way back (was in last 50 of 350 runners)
T-shirt appears better than previous reviews. Medal mentioned on original flyer conspicuous by its absence at end! Photos free on flicker Lovely town I will be back to explore.

In short: Unique and very special with a few points for improvement
In full: Once more what a great race and a special atmosphere. Make the most of the day before at the Quay side with the City Games, the junior runs and the Scenery of the Tyne.
Few things to get better, portaloos were grim, and in particular I was disappointed that Powerade choose to give us their new non-calorie drink when I needed full fat sugar!!!
Thanks to the Wonderful people of the North East how make it very special in deed

In short: Special mainly as first time distance raced
In full: Good marshalls, Flat route, Good stations, Lame Tannoy. Start atmosphere poor and cold. Some runners giving race bad rep by peeing on local house walls.
