In short: Decent route, shame it didn't stretch to 10k!!
In full: This was a decent run through the outskirts of Bradford city centre. It is certainly a more interesting route than the Epilepsy Action 10k route along Canal Road. There was a good mix of serious and fun runners which is always good to see. The 10k run was well supported runner wise, which probably explains why the excellent 1/2 marathon of last year was replaced by this. I would love to see the half return but if this is a permanent replacement and they actually make it 10k I may do it again.

In short: Well organised and friendly.
In full: This was my first running of the Barnsley 10k and I would do it again. The couple of hills within the run were not too difficult but some of the comments I heard after the race made it sound like some runners were expecting it to be pancake flat. The marshals and locals were typically friendly and the organisation seemed fine. The roadworks just before the end of the run made the approach to the finish a little tricky though, but all in all the race was good.

In short: A well organised arce....and tough.
In full: I really enjoyed this run. The organisation was fine, with supportive marshals all the way round and good support at the finish. The route itself was a long upward run out, through the wood and over moors, which afforded fantastic views of Ilkley and the surrounding area. The finish was quick and quite a relief after the first 4 miles. This is a tough run but one that is extremely enjoyable. I would love to do it again, thank you Ilkley.

In short: Great organisation. Great race.
In full: This is the first time I have run this race and hopefully it will not be the last. Friendly, well organised and apart from the weather a really enjoyable morning. It was tricky where it was muddy but overall it was a course that was not too strenuous. The stewards were great and they gave the runners a lot support.A great tech t-shirt which is always a bonus.I will be coming back over the hill from Yorkshire next year to do it again. Thank you and well done Bolton.

In short: Wel organised (apart from the parking) and friendly.
In full: A well organised low key event. The problem with the cars all turning up at the start area only to be sent elsewhere was a bit of a mess but there was plenty of parking within a couple of minutes walk so it was not a disaster. The marshalls were friendly and the rest of the organisation was fine.I knocked 5 1/2 minutes off my previous best time so it was definitely a quick course (just a shame I was left off the results page). Enjoyable run and I think I will do it again.

In short: Great race
In full: Excellent organisation and a challenge to all runners. You know you've endured a tough run when the calves ache on a Monday morning. And as a fellow finisher remarked to me at the end. "That's a proper half marathon". Enough said. Thank you Liversedge.

In short: Still a tough run!!
In full: It's a fair old effort to get around when you have a dead leg! Have to agree with yorkshire scamp- Stainland and Guy Fawkes are harder but this is still a good blow out to get this year's participation in organised run's off to a good start. Thank you Meltham.

In short: Enjoyable.
In full: This is a well organised race. The marshalls are encouraging and friendly, but it is not the most scenic route and the goody bag isn't as great as the organisers would like to think it is. Enjoyable run though.

In short: Great weather, great run.
In full: A very well run event. The weather was glorious for the time of year and the race certainly had it's challenges; the finish area was perfect. As the previous contributor said, the bars of chocolate and the tech t-shirt made it great value also. It was my first Guy Fakes run and hopefully will not be my last. Congratulations to all the people who put it together- you did a great job.

In short: Great race. Great day
In full: A thoroughly enjoyable race that was well organised and very well marshalled. The support from the locals was the best and most uplifting I have ever known; the drinks, ice pops, jelly babies and slices of orange being handed out by householders were very much appreciated. I certainly hope this race is back on the calendar in 2012 as it was great from start to finish. Thank you Bradford.
