In short: Well organised, fun, friendly and flat.
In full: I loved this race, simples. I wasn't feeling well and nearly didn't take part but I'm so glad I did. Ealing Eagles seem like a great bunch of people and they organised a superb race. It was quick and easy to pick up the race packs with numbers and chips (including safety pins) beforehand. The start and finish areas were really were well defined and spacious. The marshalls were encouraging and enthusiastic. The course itself was lovely and flat with great PB potential (had it not been a ridiculously hot day), not too much grass, lots of shade and changes of scenery. The goody bag was decent, especially appreciated was the dairy milk bar (which lasted about 10 seconds). Bottled water and bananas at the finish whilst almost expected were much needed too.
Thanks to all at Ealing Eagles for a lovely morning, I look forward to coming back next year, I'll bring some friends too!

In full: I chose this as my second half marathon. It was as tough as I'd heard, especially the infamous hill at the start but I did enjoy. The course didn't have masses of support but the locals who did turn out were lovely. Very well organised and run, good marsalls. Thanks Handy Cross!

In short: A race with a few differences
In full: Positives: A great setting on the Dunstable Downs. Monkey bars, steeeeep hills and cargo nets made this a real challenge. £22 entry was fair especially as they were raising money for Help for Heroes, although the entry went up to £35 a week before the race and I'm not sure that was completely justified. Nice t shirt and medal. Army chaps at the obstacles had a good blend of encouragement and persuasion to get you through each one!
Negatives: Despite signing up online weeks in advance, had to queue up for an hour on the day to register and collect chip timer. It was the first time they ran the event though so I'm sure they'll improve it next year. Red Bull was promised for after the race, but none to be seen.
Overall a really fun morning and I would do it again and I'm sure it will be even better next time!

In short: A well organised run, great finish with a big crowd to cheer you home.
In full: Overall, a really good race, I would definitely recommend it to others of all levels. For me, the only downside was the marshalls along the route, they didn't seem to realise they were there to encourage those in need, they were just standing there with their headphones on or on their phones, I think they were just paid help. Great atmosphere at the start/finish though, with a zumba warm up, music, tombola, food and ice cream vans!
