In short: Prospect of fantastic cakes at finish helped me drag myself up those hills. d
In full: Great race, mud made it even tougher than usual, quite a few were 'tumbling'. But then, you know it'll be hard when the race organiser's pre-race briefing describes the course conditions as 'abysmal'.

Only slight niggle was queueing for bags at the end in the strong wind but that's just me being a bit picky.

Overall, a fab race, well done to Steven Goulding, the cheery marshalls and especially the cake bakers. See you next year.

In short: Thick mud, cold river, fabulous & encouraging marshalls
In full: Thickest & deepest mud I've ever had to get through, felt sorry for those trying to become re-acquainted with their shoes within the 1st mile..
Bit concerned when I saw the survivial tent on the top of one of the hills but given the wind up there it was probably a good idea.
Cracking race, didn't stop smiling but occasionally questioned my sanity, after all I'd done the race last year & still came back. Definitely much tougher underfoot and got a personal worst for the distance - a tad over 11 miles again, never believe those friendly marshalls when they say there's only 2 to go :-)

Thanks to all involved: organisers, marshalls, participants, spectators & especially the cake bakers.

In short: Tadley Runners put on an excellent race again, great fun although the muddy legs took some cleaning !
In full: Looks like word is getting round about what a good race this is, there seemed to be loads more entries than last year.

Definitely one for next year's diary although I may enter in advance in future as I'd be gutted to miss it if entries reach their limit.

In short: Well organised, lovely marshalls & quick course
In full: First did this 2 years ago, missed last year as didn't apply early enough. Got another pb, ok only by 2 secs, but every 1 counts !

Will be back next year if I get my act together early enough.

In short: Fabulous but how do you get those kayaks to go in a straight line ?
In full: Our first attempt at adventure racing, great fun, I've never been so muddy in my life, had to return to the shower for a 2nd go.
Only complaint, apart from the kayaks (which was mainly due to operator error), was that the bike leg was frustrating in parts due to the numbers but 2nd lap was much better as things had strung out.

Being a team of runners we'd have preferred longer run sections as that was the only time we were overtaking other teams, so we'll just have to practise our mountain biking ready for next time.

The courses were very well marked, marshalls friendly and encouraging, & it was very well organised, highly recommend it.

In short: Great run, cute baby piglets distracted me from the pain of the last steep hill !
In full: Did relay last year & decided then I'd do the Half next time. Was a bit worried about the weather but apart from getting blown away & hailed on while on the top stretch it was fine - good rainbow though. Marshalls were great, organisation better than last year as new finish venue coped well BUT that meant running through that F****** underpass ! Some may have thought it was a shoe wash :-) but I'm not very tall, so it was more of a thigh wash ! Obviously the organisers can't be held responsible for it & it'll make a great talking point at work in the morning !

Put this on your list of must-do's !

In short: Almost my first DNF but hung on & glad I did !
In full: Great race, very friendly, huge range of abilities. Fab momento (race-specific Buff !)

Make sure you take spare inner tubes & know how to use them - I had 2 punctures today, saw lots of other people repairing them too. Was muppet on 2nd run and missed a turn so ran too far but still finished with a grin on my face.

In short: Undulating bits were definitely 'sharply ' undulating but what goes up....
In full: First time here and will return. Course challenging in places and a narrow stretch after 3km caused a bit of a bottleneck, otherwise it could have PB potential for those who enjoy downhills.
Marshalls still managed to smile despite standing in pouring rain.
Lovely showers afterwards, just a shame all the dry clothes got soaked on the jog back to the car.
