In short: Enjoyable... In full: First time I have run this race and throughly enjoyed it. Course was scenic and no hills. Goody bag was great and spot prizes; loved the hot chocolate at the end of the run and large selection of cakes. Great organisation and will be back in 2011. Date of review: November 1, 2010

In short: Great route, hilly, hard but will be back! In full: That first climb was tough on the legs, but overall the route was very scenic and challenging. The downhill run through the woods was great, but that short steep incline at 7k where the photographer probably caught me walking was not fun, but with a lovely downhill back to the finish was able to make up a smidge of time. Overall an enjoyable race and will be back in 2011. Date of review: July 12, 2010

In full: I really enjoyed this race despite those hills! The route is a nice mix of road, countryside and woods. The marshalling was excellent, good organisation and fab cakes at the end. The last hill up into the village was so hard but with quite a few supporters cheering you on, you couldn't walk! Will be back in 2010. Date of review: October 19, 2009

In short: Could do better In full: The guy on the tanoy at the beginning was annoying and very repetitive. Toilet queues were very long; lack of water stations - but did see lots of water/lucozade at mile 24 ish; don't recall seeing too many mile markers; hated the dirt track through Gosford House; meeting area could have been better organised - just had to wonder round hoping to spot family and friends; the exit out was narrow and cramped; needed more food vans. I usually do the Great North Run every year and the organisation throughout is just brillant - look and learn organisers of Edinburgh Marathon..... Date of review: June 2, 2009
