In short: 4th time and always delivers - great organisation despite hideous weather
In full: I love this race but may be biased living on the route in Fleet! It is always really well organised and this year was no exception. The marshals were superb with loads of encouraging words (especially the guy just after the 8 mile mark!!!) and the best thing is the fantastic support through the town centre. Can't wait until next year

In short: Fun run through fantastic forest paths (and waist deep mud!!) but let down by organisation
In full: Things didn't start too well with a 50 minute delay to the start after having us ready on the starting line 30 minute late.

However, things started to pick up once we started with the first mile putting us through our paces as we clambered through deep muddy puddles, what could best be described as waist deep bogs and thick undergrowth...I must admit I started to wonder how we would get round 10 miles of this terrain...

But just as we settled in to running we were met by the front runners coming back towards us as a lack of signs at a key intersection meant most of the race went off in the wrong direction! This then led to serious queueing at some of the subsequent obstacles (cargo net crawl, more waist deep wading). I'm surprised not to have seen more seriously annoyed runners who got held up by the slower runners who missed the detour!

Thereafter the race was a lot of fun in fantastic surroundings although there were more lost runners in the final few miles - I saw at least 2 groups running to the finishing line via the car park!!

All in all still an enjoyable Sunday morning run and I loved all the obstacles, however, organisation has to be better than this when you are paying nearly £30 for the privilege.

In short: Fantastic friendly well organised race!
In full: This was my first Hook race after being recommended by a few friends and I wasn't disappointed. A lovely scenic undulating course without the crowds of runners to push through at the start like some of the big races. The course was superbly marshalled and the event ran like clockwork. A superb race that I'd recommend to anyone - and a PB to boot! Thank you to the organisers - a job very well done!

In short: Really great race with fantastic support - and like the revised course!
In full: Many improvements from last year (which I also really enjoyed btw). The start on Reading road north with expected times is much better. Also liked going down the high street twice as the atmosphere was fantastic. The finishing 2 miles felt tougher than the old course but that's no criticism. All in all a wonderful race and even better to have on your own door step!
