In short: Tough first half makes this an interesting race In full: Very well organised popular London preparation. Tough first half with long 2-3 mile incline in first 5 miles but then some lovely downhills in second half. Good support despite grey clouds and drizzle. Well organised drinks stations plus offerings from supporters of oranges, bananas and jelly babies. Pleased with my time as 4 mins quicker than Brighton a few weeks ago although no monsoon. Big heavy ledal, shame no ribbon on it though!

In short: Tough course with first half down and second half up and up and up! In full: Course was hard. I struggled on the uphills and my quads are feeling the downhills even 2 days later! Big turn out. Well marshalled and very friendly helpers at the half way water station - thank you! Nice finish on common so good for friends and family watching. Date of review: September 22, 2009

In short: Very well organised and challenging course In full: Very local to me so definitely do again. Hard uphill start and very warm conditions this year made it tough but good turn out from local clubs. Very well organised number collection from Belgrave Harriers club house which is a short jog to start so a perfect warm up. Nice having big clock at finish. See you next year. In short: A real giggle! In full: What a laugh! Must have been quite a surrel sight. Shame the weather was so damp or there might have been more spectators. As it was the few kids watching looked very bewildered. Will be back and may bring a troop of reindeer next year. Date of review: December 10, 2007

In short: Fast and friendly flat race around Hackney Marshes In full: Travelled from Wimbledon for this based on last years ratings and wasn't disappointed. Great atmosphere because of the plentiful friendly marshalls. Bit of a queue to register and at end to collect certificate and goody bag but one of the organisers went down chatting to everyone. Massage available and toilets and changing rooms. Medal presented at end which was a nice touch. Marshalls with start lists to encourage you by name. 6 flat laps which consisted of grass, path, track, sun and shade with 2 water stations. All flat so fast. The lead runners lapped me but I managed to lap some of the slowest. Bit of a funny distance but got PB and measured as 13.57 on Garmin so the 13.5 probably accurate although medal indicates 12.5km which converts to 13.36 miles.
Will be back for this one. Date of review: August 13, 2007

In short: Hilly 2 lap course In full: Quite well organised. Marshalls on corners giving encouragement which was nice, couple of water stations which was needed with those hills and the heat and free red bull, bananas, satsumas and tea and coffee after. Nice start and finish on athletics track. No mile markers though and my Garmin measured as 9.44 miles so perhaps short as I managed PB by over 5 minutes?
Good atmosphere.
Tad more expensive than most other local races. Date of review: July 15, 2007

In short: Pretty route through rolling hills of Surrey. In full: 3rd time for me and PB this year. Always hot so quite a tough course with the hills but not too extreme. Always has a good turn out with mix of abilities. Very well organised with nice finish on rugby field. Took advantage of facilities and had a shower afterwards which was freezing cold and very much appreciated. Nice friendly marshalls, clear mile markers and chip timing. Date of review: June 3, 2007
