In short: As friendly a race as you could wish for In full: Quite why London is over-subscribed several times over each year and only 300-odd turn up for Halstead has always been a mystery to me. I do both each year but if I had to choose Halstead would win hands down. Date of review: May 16, 2006

In short: A great race on quiet country lanes In full: Excellent marshalling. Lovely course. Very friendly. Glad to see that the only gripe from previous years, the lateness of the prize giving, was much improved this year. Date of review: May 16, 2005

In short: Well organised hilly cross-country marathon with good views (weather permitting) In full: Shouldnt be considered pb material so how I got within 3 seconds of mine when all my previous 6 marathons have been on flat roads I have no idea. Perhaps I like mud more than I thought I did.
Having the relay marathon and the half marathon runners on the same course makes it fun, and less lonely if you are near the front.
