In full: Support around the course was great, especially the bands and HeartFM cars. Slightly more undulating than expected, and definitely longer than 13.1 miles by my watch anyway. Not a big deal for those running for fun, but important if you are trying to carve seconds off your best. I had it 400m long - maybe a bit of GPS error, maybe I lost the racing line somewhere - or maybe the course really is a little bit long.

In short: A decent challenge
In full: Plenty of hills. Great organisation, results up on the wall in no time, really slick admin. Nice flourescent yellow beanie in the goodie bag, handy for winter training. Good encouragement from the marshalls, and much needed at the top of the last climb!

In full: Organisation - superb throughout. Very minor blip at the start, not sure the announcer's megaphone was working so only the people at the front could hear him announce the start.

Course - could be very tricky if it was really sodden. Some patches of mushy ground this year, but 95% firm underfoot. Used trail shoes last year, decided to risk lighter race shoes this time, no issues at all.

T-shirts - Far better than most you pick up at other events, definitely plenty of thought goes into the design of these, very original. Not sure how they make the figures work giving these out when the entry price is so low, but very happy to wear mine.

Some nice patches of supporters along the course, where it was accessible. A great course to run on, whether racing or training.

Great job by all concerned, race director, marshalls and everyone else involved with the event.

In short: Better than expected
In full: Previous reports billed this as not being proper distance, so I was pleasantly surprised to find they had done some work measuring the course.

Think it might have been a smidge long (10.11 km according to two separate Garmins) but that could just be down to veering all over the place to avoid some loose ground (gravel/mud)

Very nice scenery on a crisp (cold) but sunny morning. Marshals out on the course were fairly quiet (they mostly looked a bit sheepish!) - water station at 2.5km and 7.5km with more enthusiastic children, they did a great job.

Slightly hilly overall, but nothing major.

Oddity with the prizes, first three females were all vets. They gave the first one home the prize for being first female vet, and then passed the prize for first female overall to the lady who finished as fourth female.

Not a big deal really, just a bit of a headscratcher - the people organising the race were all so nice that it seemed churlish to mention it. But it did seem...well...bonkers.

Nice atmosphere overall, with the emphasis on it being a fun run - far less club vests than you see at an average 10k race

In short: Carlsberg don't do trail runs...
In full: Faultless organisation, very decent t-shirt (high vis), great value entry fee, good course mostly off road, marshalled very well with plenty of tape marking route, signs at halfway and 2 miles/1 mile, two water stations. Top race, hats off to TRC.

In short: Hurts in a good way
In full: Great marshalling all over the course, good encouragement and clear directions given. Really well organised all round, full results displayed at the venue shortly after the finish. Hills were pretty challenging but not insane.
