In short: Great race again, and better organised than last year In full: This was my second Hellrunner and I'm glad I came back for more! Much better idea having the races on separate days, it meant the course was longer so I felt that I got my money's worth! Parking was well organised this year too. It's a fun race with a great atmosphere, I wouldn't dare tackle it as a beginner because it is very tough and I regularly train on hills but there is a good mix of abilities so if you're brave enough I would highly recommend it. I intend to do it again next year! Date of review: September 12, 2011

In short: Great PB potential - does attract fast runners but looked to be beginners there too. Great for setting a good 10K time. Date of review: November 23, 2010

In short: Great fun but the organisation let it down, and the distance was shorter than advertised In full: This was my first time doing Hellrunner and I loved it, would definitely do it again. However, the following areas could be improved: - The race pack lacked information. Maps and a more detailed explanation of the parking arrangements would have helped. - The organisation was poor. Race started late due to parking problems which I suspect was due to overcrowding (perhaps they let too many people into the race), and it was announced that there were two waves - none of this information was in the race pack. I didn't know which wave I was in, or how to get into the first one (which I should have been in based on my times). - The race was overcrowded and bottlenecked so much that I felt like I walked half the way! You don't want to start a race and be walking in the first 100 metres. If they want more people in the race, why not have more waves (and actually inform people about the wave system beforehand!)? - It seems like the distance was shorter than advertised. There is talk on the forums of it falling short of 9 miles, which makes sense looking at my time. With the amount of walking I had to do due to the crowding, I'd be surprised if I got round a 10 mile course in that time.
Still worthwhile and one of the best races I've done - it's really different. Just feel that the organisation needs to be stepped up a lot if it is to continue to be a success. Date of review: November 9, 2010
