In short: Stupidly hilly, Stupidly muddy, Stupidly good fun.
In full: Ran this for the hell of it as much as anything else. A PW for me by 30 minutes but one of the most enjoyable races I've done. Don't come looking for a time, yu're unlikely to get it. Can get a bit lonely at the back.

Nice friendly marshalls, lovely setting, tough course and free beer. What more can you ask?

The most fun you can have with your off roaders on.

In short: The Great British Public Do Us Proud Once Again
In full: Fantastic organisation, the best support in the world (what is it about the British, rain seems to make us even more determined to enjoy ourselves!) and the most fantastic race.

A real shame that I was knocked flying (and bruised badly) by an over-zealous official photographer on Tower Bridge. Missed my time but met two lovely ladies running for Shelter who picked me up and got me back on my way - to St John's Ambulance!

I did finish - in a lot of pain - and it was the support that got me there. This race has its detractors, probably because it is so big and commercial but for slower runners and those who really need supporters there's no beating it. Amazing.

I've said I'd do this again but don't tell anyone, last night I sowre I'd never race again!

In short: Terrific
In full: I did this as a walker and it was superb.

Friendly, encouraging, well organised and the best refreshments I've ever had at a race.

Quite possibly the most painful marathon I have ever don (I ache in places I didn't know I had) but one of the best experiences.

In short: Considering the size of this run and who the organisers were, organisation and cost were terrible. Good to go past Old Trafford and Imperial War Museum North but could have covered more of city centre. And the same day as the Whit Walks? Madness.

In short: Lovely race. One of the best of the year. Everyone was really friendly, it's well marshalled and you can use the pool afterwards. Well worth it.
