In short: The most fun you can have in the dark with your clothes on In full: This was my first experience of night-running, and I will definitely be doing this one again next year. Most people embraced the halloween fancy-dress theme, and the atmosphere was fun from the start. Organisation was great, easy parking right by the start and short queue for loos (we arrived just in time to miss the pre-race briefing). The course was really good, with some long slow ups and nice quick downs, easy going underfoot, and well marshalled at key points. A toffee apple and fun medal rounded it all off nicely, and it took to the end of the 2-hour drive home to wipe the grin off my face. Date of review: October 29, 2011

In short: Worth getting out of bed for In full: This was my first ever race so I've nothing to compare it to. Organisation seemed very good - parking was near the start line, and I didn't have to queue for my chip. Didn't seem to be enough toilets, and there were still queues when the race started. First section through town centre and housing estate fairly uninspiring, nice middle section through some (closed to traffic) country lanes, then an incline along the main road back into town. Water stations were good, and support along the town sections was friendly. Nice medal, but where was the goody bag? At the very least I would have expected some chocolate as a reward, yet instead was faced with a 'children's lunchbox' fruit bar...and that was it!! I'll probably do this one again next year though as it's very local for me. Date of review: May 20, 2010
