In short: More hilly than undualting
In full: Up and down, up and down, up and down. Not mega steep but constant.
Well organised, lovely route.
Favourite sign - Don't drink the sponge water, you're hair will fall out.
Second favourite sign - £5 MID race massage.

Just wish i had a new set of joints to run it with.

In short: Tough
In full: As people have siad the first half is really hilly especially between miles 3 and 4. 2nd half there is a long, long downhill section - only problem was excrutiating stitch which stopped me in my tracks for a minute or two. Steady jog back into it and i made it to the end in a decent time.
Water stations were good, marshalls were good, race was good!

In short: Well organised.
In full: Would have been an enjoybale race, but i was suffering in the heat with some weary legs. Nothing to complain about from the race point of view, well organised, well marshalled, plenty of water and wet sponges (lovely addition on a hot and sticky day), good parking, great tee shirt at the end. Big thumbs UP.

In short: Was all excited and it just fell flat.
In full: I was very excited/apprehensive to do my first marathon but i felt really quite flat by the time i finished. I thought i would be emotional crossing the finish line but the head on wind tunnel that i'd run though for the past 5 miles had blown away any emotions other than hatred of the dam wind.
For a first timer i thought the course was quite lonely, the crown were sporadic and many of the spectators seemed a bit bored by the time i got to them, which was well after the winners but by no means at the end.
The chaos after finishing was hopeless and many were almost in tears having to stand and not able to walk about with ease. i managed to get a t-shirt in my size but it doesn't even say marathon on it, my fiancee ended up with a half marathon t-shirt, which is hardly something to show the family when you've slogged for 26.2.
Travelling back to Edinburgh was a nightmare, i was very glad i wasn't in the massive queues for the runners bus and even happier that i decided against meeting my family at the reunion point as it was a long way from the finish and seemed completely seperate to the race.
Overall grade - must do better, i think i'll stick to local races.

In short: Very friendly fellow runners with good marshalling.
In full: Great policing of the roads. 3 chances for water + more at the end. All together a nice run.
