In full: First time that I have done this run and it was a thoroughly enjoyable (though tough on the legs) experience. I was worried about getting lost but I joined 2 guys who had done the course before and ran with them (thank you Andy and Neil!)and there is a good turnout of walkers who you pass along the way. The refreshments are excellent and the cakes supplied at each of the checkpoints out of this world. Along with the magnificent scenery and the suicidal hills, this makes for a 'must do' marathon!

In full: This was one of the best organised races I have attended in 30 years of running.The number of marshalls, police and St Johns' was amazing and all were so freindly. Even the police stood in the middle of a roundabout directing traffic as we came back into the town were cheering us on. Although for the marathon the route consists of 2 laps, the scenery is varied enough to compensate. Not a PB course but will certainly feature on my 'favourites' list

In short: Very tough course but the scenery is glorious and the organisation excellent. Will be back next year.
