In short: Tough first half rewarded with fast second half!
In full: Dominated by club runners this out of town race was a total surprise!! Even though the first half was full of gradients running with the pack ensured I was running 'at pace'. With a marshall stationed at the 5 mile mark shouting out the time as we passed I was spurred on and had smashed my own 10k PB by the time I'd reached 6 miles!! From that point on the majority of the course was descending gradients so a PB for a 10 miler was inevitable.

Great organisation, great scenery (well, I would say that, I live in the inner city!) and a thoroughly enjoyable run that exceeded all expectations.

In short: If you can't take the heat, stay away from the Humber!
In full: Pretty tough course, plenty of gradients and as tradition dictates pretty hot(25+.)Know what you're getting yourself in for, especially if you don't usually run that far or have only agreed to do it for charity and train accordingly or you may find yourself falling off the course. (It's actually more deadly than the MdS statistically speaking) This should have more entrants than it does get, mainly, I think, because of the heat.Organisation was superb and I talked to runners who thought it was better organised than some of the more high profile, bigger field events.

In short: Awesome! Could do with a few more water tables at each stop though. Had to actually stop at each one to get water.
