In short: Enjoyable fast race, well organised, and perfect running weather
In full: First time doing Cardiff HM, having done some elsewhere and was impressed with organisation. I tend to go early to the pens, so didn't find any of the congestion, and the queue for toilets at the start were very short (4-5 people max)
Found the start very good, with none of the bunching/congestion in the first few mile,s but I may have been lucky. One easy improvement they could make is to include a map of the race village in the race pack, so people know where things are (e.g. other toilets which may have shorter queues!)

In short: A friendly, well organised fast race - and very hot!
In full: well organised race, marshals everywhere, with a lot of water stations, which was needed given such the hot conditions. I actually liked the start in the business park, the wide roads let the runners settle into their paces before heading out into the countryside. Nice scenery, but felt very exposed with the sun, not a lot of shade on the course. Also noted the uneven footpath between 6-8 as mentioned by previous review, but nothing major. Felt a very friendly race, heard more encouragement between runners on this race than on most others I've done, a good intro to the 10 mile distance

In short: Friendly, fun race, could do with a bit better course organistaion
In full: Race has a relaxed, laid back feel, appropriate for an Irish themed race :) Course was nice to run, but wasn't the easiest to follow, as needed a few more marshals (or prominent arrows). This was apparent on lap two, when the course seemed to change slightly due to one marshal changing location. Still, a fun race to do, glad I heard about it at the last minute.

In short: Enjoyable hills, good buzz, pity about timing problems
In full: Very hilly course, starting straight up a hill, and continued up and down for the course, the best bit being the finish, the last 2k or so was a glorious downhill. Pity the chip timing let them down, although once finally updated, my time matched within a second or two to my garmin. Handy that it's so close to the train station for getting there and back.

In short: Challenging, with lots of hills and mud, but good fun, and very well organised
In full: First off road race for me, so didn't know what to expect. Very well signposted and marshalled.
Course was very interesting, with three hills of note, the first one, muddy track climbing up to the 4k marker was the hardest, imo, although the final one between 9 and 10 was energy sapping as it was at the end. Loved the downhill between 8 and 9. Overall, great race, you wouldn't have known it was their first one.
