In short: A tough race, but well worth the effort In full: First-timer at Mud Runner, having previously enjoyed 2:09's Turbo X events.
Loved the course, loved the mud and loved the overall feel of the event.
My daughter and her friends entered the junior race and equally loved it.
My new favourite race.
Great work Kes and the team! Date of review: October 31, 2012

In short: A tough race, but well worth the effort In full: My first full marathon, so nothing to directly compare it too.
Nice scenic route. A few hills - undulating was an understatement, but nothing too excessive. The extra loop on the 2nd lap however was in my opinion a little tough.
The majority of marshalls were excellent. A few did unfortunately appear a little detached and uninterested.
A few pockets of "crowds" which helped with the motivation. As expected however, most of these did disappear once the half runners left the course. A huge thank you to those who stayed on to support the full marathon runners. And especially to those handing out sweets!
Lots of missing mile markers, which didn't help my pacing. A couple more drink stops would also have helped, as well as a more adequate supply of energy drinks.
The entry price was good value, a nice T-shirt and a good medal. A recovery drink would however also have been appreciated.
A bit mean for Worcester Warriors to charge for car parking...unless this was donated to charity of course?!
For future years, would a finish inside the stadium be possible? This would help add atmosphere, provide somewhere for supporters to sit and would also encourage more to stay around longer to support the other finishers.
Congratulations to the organiers on their first attempt. A few minor issue to hopefully improve on, but otherwise I did enjoy it and will be back next year to try and beat my time...despite the pain! Date of review: April 16, 2012

In short: A really enjoyable race and knocked 6 mins off my PB! In full: Nice route, limited undulations, really enjoyed it.
The "free" lunch was a great touch!
More of a club-feel than other races I have previously entered, so not quite as much banter.
Will definitely be back next year - thanks and well done to all who helped organize. Date of review: March 5, 2012

In short: As always, a great morning out and about in the mud In full: Third time I have entered this race and still love it. Great course, with plenty of testing surprises. Pleased to see a better t-shirt than Surrey Hills and bottled water rather than plastic cups, as has been the case at other recent 2:09 events. Good work Mike and his team. In short: A tough race, but well worth the effort In full: My first trail half (ran 3 road halfs previously) and thoroughly enjoyed it.
It was very hard work though. I regularly run the Turbo X races and this was far tougher in my opinion. The course description was hilly and hilly it most definitely was. The finishing hill was described as "cheeky"...downright "rude" would probably be more appropriate!!!
Having said all that, it was a brilliant experience - great scenery, enthusiastic marshalls and brilliant atmosphere out on the course. Nice medal and delicious flapjack at the end. Also a good place for supporters to enjoy themselves once the race was underway.
Relative novices or indeed complete newcomers should not be put off by the hills...just make sure you prepare properly and you will be fine.
Congratulations to all involved, I will definitely be back next year to hopefully improve on my time. Date of review: July 11, 2011

In short: A really good race, whatever your standard In full: 2nd time I have ran this and loved it again. Brilliant course with lots of challenges. A real shame there weren't as many runners this year. My only gripes would be: 1) cups of water instead of the usual handy bottles (gave up waiting at the first water stop for a drink); 2) Goody bag was a bit sparse and the large t-shirt was not nearly large enough; 3) Only a few of the marshalls appeared interested out on the course...complete contrast to the Forces cadets at Bordon who are amazing. Still a great race though and with a few minor tweaks would be an outstanding race. Date of review: May 16, 2011
