In short: Fast flat course - congestion issues need sorting for next year
In full: My first GSR and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A special mention to all the supporters who were incredible! Loved the bands, the cheering, locals lining the street playing music, kids spraying you with water guns to keep you cool. Portsmouth definitely did themselves proud! I loved the boost zone where they handed out jelly babies, though at mile 9 you're nearly finished so it could be brought forward a little.
Only gripe is the same as everyone else - major congestion issues I think having 24,000 people enter is too much for some of the narrower streets. Definitely more than three waves are required - as someone else mentioned they get it spot on for the BUPA 10k in May, definitely take some tips from there and apply it to the GSR and then you're on to a winner...

In short: Well organised and good supported race
In full: (Reviewed on behalf of boyfriend who ran)
First time running this race, was well organised and good support along the way.
More undulations than expected for a city race - last 2 miles quite tricky with tough (ish) hill might catch out first time runners of the distance (even the elites found it tough!) Definite PB potential for the more experienced runner.
Only really gripe would be that more water should have been provided before and after the start of the race. Overall another great BUPA race and would recommend.

In short: A first time runner looking for their first 10k would suit this race perfectly!!
In full: Excellent organisation as you would expect from BUPA. Very beginner friendly [my first 10k race] but also excellent PB potential [my boyfriend shaved 7 minutes off last year]. Scenery at the start and end lovely - middle part not the greatest running through the side roads of London. Nice goody bag and medal received at the end. Overall will definitely be back next year - in fact already entered :-) xx
