In short: A must for competent runners or brave souls
In full: Epic. Having missed some training I gambled on this as prep for NYM in two weeks - after this the hills of Manhattan should look a doddle but wouldn't recommend this approach to anyone else! Plenty of water & nibbles, friendly marshals, some pockets of nice natives, unique views. Tricky underfoot, particularly after heavy rain, but no problem for those not worried about doing another marathon in a fortnight!

In short: First class organisation and the views are not bad either!
In full: Great day and well thought out - plenty of water etc. I was surprised I got my time texted to me in a few minutes. Could even enjoy this in rubbish autumn weather but we were lucky on the day. Fellow Duffers may have found a couple nagging inclines but no problem if you've trained and going at a sensible pace. A few pinch-points around road narrowing and some turns but the only real hazard was avoiding water bottles not thrown off-road

In short: A memorable course
In full: Nice grounds and run. As expected, steep climb up Downs after some undulating paths - gradients manageable once you're up there. Steep enough on the way back down to need the brakes a little! Also expected, pretty breezy up there. Did ask runner for advice on what to wear but he said my legs would be hurting too much to care - he was right! Spacing of the water stops worked well. Good feel round start/finish but take quite a few quid for the race - the refreshments afterwards are not the cheapest and there were no kindly souls chucking freebie cakes around, although the Clif tent was great.

In short: Lovely area and lovely organisers
In full: It was an incredibly hot day but plenty of water and the odd shower from friendly locals. The goody bags even had local apple juice and Cider from Biddenden, which was a nice touch. Good atmosphere around the start/finish and everybody worked hard to make this a smooth and enjoyable day.

In short: A decent event that just lacks a bit of polish
In full: The pre-run comms were patchy. Water stops in first 13 miles were inadequate and an energy drink would have been good. I would rather spend a few pounds more and get a bottle that will last a couple miles and you can run with, rather than the flimsy plastic cups that make you stop or take in inadequate fluids - this was a hot day

In short: The most welcoming people / marshals. Copious drinks etc and the cakes weren't bad afterwards!
