In short: A mixed bag.
In full: Lovely medal, but otherwise rubbish 'goody bag'. People on the drinks stations did a great job, and were also encouraging which was nice. Definate potential for a pb I think as the course was very flat and the crowd thinned out quickly meaning no problems with other runners despite the numbers. (I didn't realise there had been a problem with the distance till I came on here, but it does make me feel slightly better about my time!) Would do it again.

In short: Marshalls great, and better signposted than last year. (Didn't get lost this time!)

In short: Fantastic race, beautiful scenery and really well run.
In full: This was my first half, and I loved it. Definitely intend to be back. Also really chuffed with the medal. (I am a medal collector not a t-shirt collector!)

I was close to not been allowed to finish, and do think mentioning on the website an idea of the time you've got to get it done would be useful for future years. This however was my only, (very minor,) gripe in what was a smoothly run, well organised, exceptionally friendly, generally fantastic, race.

Everyone should have a go at this at some point in their running lives.

In short: Great atmosphere and lots of fun, despite the rain.
In full: This was by far the biggest race I've done, and I agree with other reviewers that it would have helped if people intending to walk started nearer the back as getting throught the first 2-3km was a bit of a pain at times.

However the atmosphere was fantastic, and the marshalls very encouraging. It was lovely to get so much support from people I didn't know as I ran round (dressed as a bunnygirl!) and would definately run it again. The torrential rain didn't seem to dampen the spirits.

P.S. In response to the comment above, I'm sorry you had so much trouble parking. If you do decide to come back there is usually plenty of parking at the University if people are coming by car.

In short: Clubby feel, but even as a tortoise I felt welcome.
In full: I entered online, and had a problem finding the start (me not knowing the area, not their fault!) so had just collected my number as the whistle went. The lasses on the race desk were great at sorting me outreally quickly (thankyou).

The marshalls were encouraging, even though I'd been lapped by the winner as he crossed the line and was definately a back runner.

I may have caught it on a good day but the park was beautiful, and a quick course meant I nearly got a pb. Would definately do it again if I was in the area.

In short: Fast, flat course, friendly marshalls.
In full: Flat course, mostly along cycle paths and along the river. Marshalls were friendly and encouraging, and the organisation was great. Lovely medal to.

I'd heard from others previous years there were delays getting on to the aquaduct, but I was near the back and didn't have any problems.

Would definately do this race again.

In short: Great organisation and marshalls.
In full: I enjoyed this, and knocked 13 minutes off my PB running it despite falling over a dog! (But then this was only my second 10km, and I did get lost on my first one!) It's hilly, and I don't think is many people's idea of good PB potential, hence my marking it down.

There was a little 'cafe', and a playground, which kept my support amused while I trotted round, which definitely a plus.

Rubbish goody bag (why can't the big people get cool medals like the little people did?) but otherwise a challenging, but good, race that I would definitely do again. I was very much a back runner, but the marshalls were great at cheering us on even then.

P.S. Should either of you read this, thankyou to the fellow runners who took the time to check I was okay after the dog incident, even if the dog owner didn't seem right bothered! It meant a lot. :-)

In short: Leeds version- Very short 5km! But great atmosphere and lots of fun.
In full: Very family friendly, great goody bag and medal. Lots of fun, but wasn't close to 5km long. Definately a family event rather than for taking yourself seriously! (My son is looking forward to doing this with me this year 2011, and has already found his pants!)
