In short: Very enjoyable, well organised race In full: Great support round the town and excellent marshalling, along with an attractive course and sunshine, made this a good day out and good build up for London. This was definitely big enough to be an "event", but not so big as to be crowded. Slow runners starting at the front were a pain (message: please don't) and personally I'd have liked an earlier start but otherwise highly recommended. Date of review: March 11, 2007

In short: Good scenic race; hills a good challenge In full: LIke last year a beautiful winter's day. Same nice course once you're out of the houses, well organised parking and good marshalling - thank you! Got round in an OK time despite being ill. The park is a good start/finish venue. The junior races were a real bonus, my kids are well pleased with having competed and are hopefully getting the bug. Date of review: February 8, 2007

In short: Good, fast course, could improve some basics In full: Plenty of positives: easy to get there, park at the OU and get away afterwards. Good, fast, flattish course - like many others, it seems, I ran a PB, and was glad I did as I didn't get caught up in the problems at the finish. Appreciated the free lucozade as well as water. Marshalls were fine and thanks to them for standing around on a really cold morning and encouraging us runners. Good medal which impressed my kids. And the Dri-fit T shirt is good quality for £10 extra.
However I was surprised at the start that there was no lining up according to estimated finish time - this would be easy to implement. And there was no PA system at the start to create an atmosphere and count down to the start, just a hooter at 1030 (on time at least, which was good on a cold day!). Didn't know about the massage at the end so I just went home.
I enjoyed the day and was chuffed with a PB so no great complaints. Feeling better for FLM as a result. Date of review: March 13, 2006

In short: Very good, well organised, surprisingly scenic, quite hilly In full: My first half for a number of years and REALLY enjoyed it. Organisation was excellent, pre-race communication very good. Parking nearby OK, and facilities at the race HQ were fine.
Hills were a good challenge. Good finish in the park - plenty of room to stretch and cool down. And marshalls were friendly and helpful.
Highly recommended. Date of review: March 13, 2006
