In short: Beautiful countryside run that bites with some brutal hills
In full: This was a fun race, not too busy and with nice support from locals. The scenary is really lovely - lots of birds of prey, horses, cows, autumn colours etc. It was my first half marathon so pretty tough considering the hills. I found the downhills actually much harder than going up, and I really don't think this run would be as fun if it was raining.
One to avoid if you have runner's knee aggravated by going down hill but a nice challenge all the same. Perhaps not so aimed at fun runners / charity runners but worth the effort.

In short: Good practice race for longer tris, convenient for people who are busy at weekends
In full: This was a nice wee race on a Wednesday evening. The scenery was OK and I found a great starter as I'd never done a triahtlon before. The atmosphere was a bit 'get it over and done with' but not bad. My only disspapointment was the 4 portaloos. Not enough for 400 people!

In short: Flat, fun race for women, with loads of extra goodies thrown in
In full: This is a great all-female run, with lots of fun goodies including showers, nice toilets, make overs and best of all, CHAMPAGNE! Great food on site as well, although their after party was a bit tame! Didn't help that it was 33 degrees that day but still got PB of 10km in under 50 mins so a good course.
My only gripe was that there was no loop check for people who said they were doing 10km (instead of the other 5km option) - many people dropped out at the 5km point due to the heat so the placings were wrong - I know I was top 15 but originally told I was 162nd!
Sure they'll fix that next year though. For a first event, it was amazingly well organised.

In short: It's not the most exciting race ever, but it is challenging and hilly, and very scenic.
