In short: Delightful race for all abilities and very welcoming In full: I ran this for the first time and was bit aprehensive because I am not that fast even without the hills (normally 10 minute-ish miles) but it was great. Just the right amount of challenge and largely in the first five miles. Friendly competitors and marshalls (normal for E. Yorks of course!) and excellent organisation including plenty of marshalls well-drilled in controlling road traffic. Good value especially as there is a good quality long sleeved running top at the end rather than a cheap t-shirt. A really uplifting day. Date of review: January 29, 2012

In short: Very challenging due to the proper Yorkshire hills but at least has a nice easy last couple of miles. Well-organised and good value. Rugby club makes a great base for supporters and handy for a cuppa, pint or chips afterwards. Date of review: February 27, 2011

In short: Challenging but not too much for a slow "unattached" amateur like me as long as you are not ashamed to be at the back. Excellent last warm up for the Great North Run. Lovely pub at the end with real ale and bbq available. Good atmosphere all round In full: Special mention for the race marshalls who were friendly without being patronising.
