In short: Very well organised Event and perfect setting - A rural run with a Urban mix
In full: The race organisation from signing up to finishing and even afterwards with a Thank You e-mail was perfect. I can see why this is going to be one of the best UK Marathons. Not quite a pancake flat course but very enjoyable with some good crowds and for the last mile it was a great run in along the River Dee and around the racecourse. The T Shirt is very good and will get loads of use over the winter months. Distance markers every mile and bins for rubbish at every mile with loads of water stations.
The weather of course was perfect and I could imagine had the weather been wet the grass start could have been horrible even dangerous, as it was I stood in a puddle at the start and had wet feet before even setting off. But overall one of the best races I have every done

In short: Another good day out in Leeds
In full: I ve run this race 10 times now and always enjoy it been a local. It is a challenging run with the hills but worth it.
This years event was a little crowded and next year organisers really need to open up the start a bit more as it was just too busy at the start and I was near enough to the front of the massive crowd of people. More pens for 90 and 100 Min runners could sort this out a bit.
Great T-Shirt and Medal this year, agree with other comments about the Chip on laces would be nice not have to take these off at the end and would resolve some of the issues at the end.
Overall a good and well organised event

In short: Good Venue, Shame about the weather, Massive Fail for the organsiation
In full: This was my 1st ever Marathon distance after 10 years of running 1/2 and competing in Triathlons,so I was looking forward to it like you could not believe. However the weather came along to play !! Nothing anybody can do about the weather.
The pre-race organisation was a bit scatter gun but I put this down to the Hail, Wind and Rain meaning everybody was hiding in the Tents until the last minute (runners and organisers alike).
The race itself was good - great support by the crowd and marshalls, although the Water stops could have done with better signing as the kind of appeared out of nowhere. The off road section was spoilt by the weather normal April conditions would not have caused an issue but these were not normal conditions and you just had to be sensible not to slip in the mud and ankle deep puddles.
I do put alot of the negative comments about the race down to the weather (benefit of doubt to Xtra Miles Events on this point), however the Bag Collection was down to poor organisation and nothing else. I finished just after 12.30pm by 2.15pm I had still not found by bag with clean clothes in (3136 if anybody has it) and left without it. I was freezing cold and had a 1/2 mile walk back tot he car on stiff legs and in wet cold clothes. I ended up having to drive back to leeds in wet underpants with a Car Blanket wrapped around me. I am still hopefull the bag will turn up as it had my Finishers T Shirt in for my 1st ever Marathon and that is something I want to be able to treasurer for ever.
I was thinking of doing the Leeds Triathlon in September organised by the same people but I am in two minds now and will need some serious consideration before doing Manchester again if Xtra Miles are organising it

In short: Well Organised event with nice bike and run routes.
In full: Nice flat bike and run sections on the course make for a good time but the river swim was cold and into a very strong current for 1st half made it very tough not helped by the weather
