In short: Shame about the course change, and lack of loos at start a joke In full: What would have been quite a pretty course changed a day or two before to a course mostly along quiet suburban streets, with plenty of kerbs etc. Flat, so flattering to your time :)
Really friendly marshalls, who were smiling through the rain and very encouraging.
Two (gents) loos at start a bit of a joke considering entry limit was 2500 (!), luckily only 350 or so started. No coffee/cafe at start contrary to race details. Overall, not one of most professionally organised events.
In short: Enjoyable as usual In full: Much less mud this year - seemed a bit strange not to have mud over the ankles. Good to have the morris dancer helping us up the hill. Rob seems to organise the best weather each year, with sunny intervals in November!
In short: another nightmare from Dr Rob - fantastic run! In full: It's Wednesday after the race on Sat and I can nearly walk again... Those steps in the last mile! Marshals brilliant as always, lots of drinking stations, great atmosphere among the runners with lots of encouragement. Date of review: June 26, 2013
In short: Half Marathon - beautiful course, organisation not so good In full: Beautiful course with lovely views and scenery. Hills not so steep as some, but quite alot of them. Bit of a delayed start, and annoying to be given marathon t-shirts and medals when only done the half (probably even more annoying for those who've done the full) - given there seemed to be 400+ in the half, it's not so difficult to have t-shirts printed (other events do...) In short: Beautiful through the snowy woods... when you could lift your eyes from the muddy track In full: Wonderful marshalls, smiling even in the snow. Nice out-and-back route with more uphill than you expect on the way back. You could feel the temperature drop below zero as you climbed to the top, with a tower looking v pretty in the snow. Love the carrots at the end - and cool hat as well as T-shirt this year. Date of review: March 24, 2013
In short: Beautiful scenery, varied course, but a long last mile! In full: I thought organisation was fine, and not as bad as many other rate it. Baggage, loos, marshalling etc all good, and I don't really mind about the plastic water cups. Some lucozade as well as water would have been nice at one of stops. The race really is in gorgeous scenery - so much nicer than Royal Parks in London on the same day. Date of review: October 9, 2012
In short: very well organised, friiendly, not too big, nice scenery In full: All organanisation like clockwork - plenty of loos/great baggage drop-off/friendly and efficient marshalls. Slightly undulating course through nice countryside, with great support at Leigh village and coming back into Tonbridge Date of review: September 25, 2012
