In short: One of my favourite 10k races!
In full: Love this race! Excellent organisation as always - the marshalls are amazing, so encouraging and lots of them which you need as the route through the woods is winding. Lots to keep you interested, some cheeky hills. I loved the signs along the way particularly 'Run Forest Run' put a smile on my face as I wasn't feeling very well!

It is such a friendly race and welcomes all abilities. Some lovely touches - the ever present Woody the gorilla, the bananas and a new addition this year, samosas!

Well done Petts Wood Runners!

Definitely one to include on your race calendar.

In short: Great race with a great atmosphere
In full: Ran this race last year and loved it - no change this year - LOVED IT! Such a great atmosphere, everyone is so happy and chilled. And to top it off Ian McKellen started the race and gave me a cheer and a wave at the half way point. Got a PB so very happy.

In short: Very well organised - the cakes were a nice touch :o)
In full: First time I have run Larkfield - very impressed with the organisation, marshalls were fab and the children at the water station were really encouraging. But what made it for me were the cakes and refreshments at the end - so much choice, I went for the blueberry sponge finally and it was delicious!

Great PB potential (got mine by about 10-11 secs), only shame it that it isn't chip timed as provisional results are showing me outside my PB but I started at the back so crossed the start line a fair few seconds after the elite runners.

I will definitely do it next year - hopefully in better health. Not sure it was wise to run after suffering a tummy bug!

Well done Larkfield AC - you should be very proud.

In short: First marathon in challenging conditions but still loved it!
In full: As this was my first marathon I have nothing similar to compare it to - apart from shorter races. So overall I would say what made it for me was the supporters and marshals - they were amazing. To stand out in that weather for hours cheering on (mostly) strangers was overwhelming.

I was so glad I had my name on my shirt as the constant shouts of 'Go on Tricia, you can do it' really helped me when I was struggling with severe cramp at 20 miles onwards.

I was extremely disappointed with the finish - I found it confusing, an inflatable arch for next year is an absolute must. And I would have liked to have the medal put over my neck, I had to ask other finishers where the medal was.

I agree with other reviewers about the foil blankets, assumed they would be given out at the finish line or as we left the stadium. Had no idea they were at the baggage area as I left my bag with family in the stadium. My husband was seriously worried that I was hypothermic as I couldn't stop shivering for about 90 mins afterwards.

Also, a little disappointed that we were advised to prebook parking at Furzton Lake, no-one checked on entry that we had booked which is why it filled up so quickly and those who had booked were turned away. The shuttle buses were great but by the time we had parked the car and walked to the bus me, hubby and young sons were soaked and freezing (umbrellas waste of time and blew inside out!). Then we arrive at the stadium to see people parking quite easily - so that could have been avoided.

Still very proud to have finished in a respectable time in such challenging conditions - it will live long in the memory!

I am sure organisers will learn from this inaugural event and next year's will be much, much better.

In short: Fabulous race - leaves you with a nice warm feeling :O)
In full: My 2nd time running this race - loved it last year, loved it this year! It takes you through wonderful trails - some gentle hills to test you but nothing awful. And the organisation is great - really friendly, the marshalls are fabulous and the spectators are very encouraging. Nice goody bag and the gorilla with the bananas at the finish puts a smile on your face. A definite for the race calendar.

In short: Loved it! Great atmosphere, gorgeous scenery and excellent PB potential
In full: My first Pride 10k - had read good things about it and they are all true. Very well organised, particularly liked the cream cheese bagels at the end. The marshalls were excellent, really encouraging and friendly. Plenty of people lining the route cheering you on. Great goody bag - loving the towel. And to top it all I beat my PB by a whole minute. Definitely on my race calendar for next year and probably the happiest 10k I have done so far. Thanks to all the organisers :o)

In short: LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!
In full: Fantastic race in a wonderful settting. The start was uphill and the finish was brutal but it left me with a huge grin on my face.

The organisation was excellent and the goody bag was probably the best of any race I have attended. The t-shirt is one I will definitely wear again.

And they had a Redwood Creek wine tent with free samples and you could buy a case for £25 in stead of £45 - bargain.

What's not to like? Already looking forward to next year.

In short: Wish I had done more hill training!
In full: Not a good start as although told I could register on the day they had run out of chips and numbers when I got there. Other than that very good organisation, the marshalls were very helpful and charming and the medals and bananas at the finish were well organised.

I struggled with the first 2km which I was personally disappointed with but managed to run the hill 2nd time around and sprint finish to come in around 59mins. Shame i wasn't chipped but will definitely ensure I sign up online in plenty of time for next year!

In short: Could have been better
In full: My friend and I were convinced the distance wasn't 10k and someone's Garmin has confirmed that so what I thought was a PB turns out not to be - how disappointing! Not as well organised as other 10ks I have run - last year's t-shirt, generic medal and race number with Birmingham 10k plastered over it - odd.

I found 4 laps of the park dull - would rather have gone out onto Hayes Lane to make it a little more interesting.

But have to take issue with the comments about dogs and children on bikes - IT'S A PUBLIC PARK!!!!!!! And I think they did a good job of keeping out of our way. There were no signs (as there have been in previous years) about it being the Bromley 10k so why should people have stayed away?
